Offers......and palpitations!

I have just been speaking to my lovely agent and have been sitting on the floor – stunned. My novel has been on submission for precisely two weeks and we have MULTIPLE foreign offers already.

Yes. That’s right. An actual queue of  publishers who want to pay me money to publish it!

I wish I could tell you more but it is all being very carefully and expertly negotiated and hence I have to sit tight and wait.

So – is that what I am doing? Sitting tight and waiting? Don’t be ridiculous! I am pacing and sitting and pacing and sitting and chewing all my nails.  It had honestly never occurred to me before that selling a book is like selling a house. Even when the offers ARE coming in and you have complete faith in your agent, you still manage to panic.

I have therefore decided on the distraction strategy of planting some bulbs (hence photo of tulips today – don’t you just love them?). Oh and I will, of course, also be doing some writing.
